Episode 9: Sonny Etienne, LMHC, CAP, NBCC

Sonny Etienne, or “Mr. Sonny,” as he is known by his clients, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Addiction Professional (CAP), nationally recognized as a Certified Counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). He is a proud graduate of Florida Memorial University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Philosophy. He then earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University.

Mr. Etienne has extensive experience and expertise serving youth and their families for close to two decades. His work has focused on troubled teens at risk of delinquency, runaway, addiction, and family dysfunction, and couples. Mr. Etienne has also helped clients achieve career goals; reduce depression and anxiety; and coached parents on raising children/adolescents with ADHD, mood disorders, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, to name a few.

Using an eclectic approach and creative interventions, Mr. Etienne integrates theories from Multi-systemic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, art and play therapy and solution-focused therapy to help clients modify their behaviors and reach desired outcomes. Mr. Etienne is the founder and lead psychotherapist of Introspective Counseling Service, based in Broward County, Florida.
